I feel so guilty.

I hit my brother then yelled at him. A roomful of people said I did the right thing that he deserved it but still I hit him.

He was being a jackass and he kicked a glass out of my hand, twice. Then he was acting threateningly and so I hit him and I snapped after that. I told him to get the fuck out. And he did.

Now he's back. He's broken one of the mirror closet doors (you know the floor to ceiling kind?). He says he's leaving, moving out. And he's locked himself in the bathroom. I hope he's not doing anything stupid in there.

You're his big sister, not his mother. I've no idea how your family politics work (and thankfully, I've never had this situation with either of my siblings). He has made a certain set of choices (including the decision to leave). He is the one who needs to deal with the consequences. If you think his behavior is more foolish or dangerous than a typical 18 year olds', letting your mom and dad know specifically what the situation is would probably be a good idea. I'm not sure that anyone is well served by you 'protecting' him in this case. Again, you're not one of his parents, you're not responsible for him in that way. I hope that helps.

As to the happier topic, it sounds like you're getting more comfortable with the xD. It's nice when the numbers and ratings support your gut feeling. Given the way we were treated, I see no reason to deal with that dealership.
