Tonight I felt like I was on top of my shit at work. Two problems came up, I called the people who would normally fix them (or at least walk me through it), but they didn't answer. I made up my own solutions. They eventually did call me but I'd already fixed the problem the correct way! Yay me!
Then I get home and get an IM from a friend whose resume I'd turned in. He told me my supervisor said he'd probably get to work Sun-Thurs. I'm a little hurt. I'm busting my butt, working an extra hour each day they aren't paying me for (I know it's not that bad but when that hour is from 1130 to 1230 at night it's a bit irksome) and they're a) giving him the weekends off essentially while I'm working so much I can't remember the last time I actually saw my gf in person and b) not at least putting him on my shift so that we have one more person to help us out. Grrr!
Deep down I do love my job but I'm tired of the bullshit. It seems we're always waiting on the same reporter to turn in her stories. She's always yelling at her supervisor about why she can't get everything done. It doesn't seem like anyone else is having a problem filing their stuff. I just wish they'd hire my friend Joe. He knows how to get his work done correctly and on time.

I've applied for the LBC group because I'm going to be in Long Beach before the end of this year to get tattooed by Opie Ortiz at American Beauty. And Disneyland and all that other crap Cali has to offer a kid far away from home.
I was hoping to join before I meet any of you so I know what happens down there with SG folk before I make any commitments.
