I had lunch with Dad, Bro and Sister at the local famous bakery. Sooo fucking good.
You can't really see it, but there's a hedge of bushes along the edge of this patio seating area. We're about halfway through lunch and all of a sudden, Dad's gone backwards into them in his chair. We all had a good laugh and not 5 minutes later my brother started to do the same. I wish I had gotten a picture of it.
The drive back was nice and beautiful.

Around Independence:
Owen's Dry Lake (For an interesting history, look up the lake, Mullholland (yes the dude the road is named after) and the Water Wars):
The sky really is that blue. I don't have tinting on my car.
And because LA people really do love our water, we have a Crystal Geyser bottling plant just outside of Olancha:
On the way into Olancha:
Obviously you can't tell, but there used to be a hotel here. I believe it was open during the early days of Owen's Valley. I'm not sure when, but the place was abandoned then I think about 10 years ago (probably more) the place burned down. The interesting bit about this location is that this is where my mother saw a ghost.
Before they had me, my mom and dad were driving down 395 late at night. As they rounded the corner just past the old hotel, which was simply abandoned at this point, mom said she saw this pink thing suddenly appeared in the middle of the highway. Mom said there is no way it was a plastic bag and in fact it looked like a woman. As they drove through it, it disappeared. I always say hi to the lady when I drive by.
I stopped by
Koleetabot's place and watched "Three Amigos." It was hilarious. I've had "My Little Buttercup" stuck in my head all day.
Once I got home, I found this had been moved in:
I'm so in love with it. It's gorgeous. But it makes me sad to realize it was the last thread tying RS and I together. I miss him something terribly. I wish he would show up at my door, gather me up in a big bear hug, tell me he forgives me and say he understands. Silly dreams of a flippant girl, I suppose, but damnit I can still dream.
