The trip to Arizona was good. We literally ate our way through Tucson.
Friday:
We arrived at about 8 p.m. After checking into the hotel we went to a place called Bison Witches. It's this awesome dive bar/sandwhich place. I had a margarita and a pulled pork sandwich. After dinner, we went to another bar, called Plush. There's the front bar area then in the back there's another bar and a stage. We watched a couple bands, I bought the first band's CD. The second band was just too hardcore punk for my taste. I hate live music where I can't understand any of the music (meaning all you hear is one really loud instrument). We crashed after that.
Saturday:
Breakfast was a bagel shop. He wasn't impressed with the service. I thought it was OK. I still like bagel's from Coffee Bean.
We went to his grandmother's to sort through the stuff they wanted to get rid of. There was a lot that no one wanted. I ended up with a swiss army knife. And a sideboard. I'm really excited about it and hope that I'm not just being wishful in that I'll get it.
On the way to lunch we discovered a snake under RS's uncle's car.
The boys weren't too good about handling it. RS's dad was right in there trying to save it so we could relocate it. RS eventually helped.
We had lunch at a place called Beyond Bread. It was soooo f'ing delicious. I had a turkey sandwich on rosemary bread.
Then it was back to sorting. It was a long day.
We all went to dinner at Cafe Poca Cosa. I had Carne Asada con crema de aguacate (meet with an avocado sauce). It was good, but super filling. I also had two really fucking good margaritas. They went down so smoothly.
The waiter was awesome. He invited us to to the local engineer fraternity's party. I really wanted to go but I passed out from too much tequila.
Sunday we went on a hike. I though it was maybe three miles. I think it ended up being three miles each way. Thankfully RS's mom and I were the slow ones so we took breaks and tried cooling down. The destination was really pretty, a little place called Seven Falls.
Yes that's RS on the very edge. The rock was a smooth granite. And so cool to the touch. Here's a few random shots.
