Ganked from somewhere I would rather not mention:

These are the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing's users. As usual, bold what you have read, italicise what you started but couldn't finish, and strike through what you couldn't stand. The numbers after each one are the number of LT users who used the tag of that book. i am adding another...

I thought the first third of it or so was one of the most fascinating things I'd ever read. I had to really struggle to actually finish the damn thing though.

I'll be honest, I'm not much for those types of books (I prefer novels), but I was impressed. What did you think?

(Also, I forgot to add The Kite Runner to my list.)
subrosa:
I shall look into it. I mean, I prefer novels, but I like those types of books too. They make me feel informed.

Or something.

This song always speaks volumes to me.

I have to block out thoughts of you, so I don't lose my head
They crawl in like a cockroach leaving babies in my bed
Dropping little reels of tape to remind me that I'm alone
Playing movies in my head that make a porno feel like home
There's a burning in my pride, a nervous bleeding in...

I don't know that song [what? I'm getting old] I've always preferred Morphone's In Spite of Me in these situations. feel better.

Thank you the brunch was very good. We had a good time. It was really great to meet you.

Fuck. I've been awake for almost two hours. What is with waking up in the middle of the night? I know I'm lonely. I miss having someone curled up with me in bed. OK, I miss a specific someone (RS) but I slept great last night. So what's the deal? Grrr.

At least I'm catching up on my MTV.

the guy that was orienting me to the phones was talking about his strange taste in music, and we were both talking about not fitting in. then i told him about all the great people we met in california... he was sayin that he has a hard time making friends and it was cool that we could meet so many people we get along with. and that when i said "well hey i can tell you since you probably wont think its too weird how i met the people" he said no not weird at all... very cool...

I totally felt like I kicked ass at work last night. I'm not sure why as my partner kept changing things (which honestly is getting a little annoying to the point I want to yell, "Fine you design the whole damn paper!), but it's a nice feeling to know that I can figure just about anything out and come up with a solution.

I also...

I'm feeling down tonight, but not like super depressed. Normally watching "Scrubs" makes everything better but seeing Elliot and JD's shenanigans makes me want that. But I don't want that.

I just want my RS. And yet, I don't.

I just feel like I'm ready to have my life partner (not ready for marriage). Ya know when you see that couple who just looks like...

What's worse than waking up at a quarter after five in the morning? realizing you've had the pokemon theme song stuck in your head for the last hour.

I've been up for almost two hours. Not a big deal to people with normal jobs, but for me this is the middle of the night. I went to bed at 2:30 ish so that means I've...

Oh, girl. (Hug)
Im not gonna pretend to understand the female mind. I cant tell you any solutions to this problem, but I can listen and I can tell you alot of people care for you on here. Keep your head up and this will pass in time.

You are more valuable then you may think. When you decide to give guys a chance again, I think you will come to figure out after some duds that there is another meant for you.

Hope that helped in some way.

I figured you might be able to appreciate the 'Daily news' format more than anybody, and Stupid Girl Dumb-Face really is an awesome member of my news team.

Me, I've never even been in love. It makes me feel cheap for listening to romantic songs about past romances, because it really doesn't apply to me.
Girls are just as bad about not giving closure. And for christ sake, why not let me buy you dinner!? Grrr.

*Hug* When you're re-incarnated, come back as a whiptale lizard, they don't need smelly boys.
Me? I'll probably come back as a lesbian manta ray.

I'm scared. It feel like no matter what choices I make, they're the wrong ones.

I'm just tired of being wrong all the time. This is why I want to drink, to forget.

And here I'd been feeling a bit better because my family had been here and surrounded me and supported me. I even spent an awesome day with my dad.

Yet, here I...

^ That sounds unpleasant. shocked

At least you don't let a coin make your decisions. (I don't either, but ...we could.)
rosehips:
I've felt like that many times in my life. It can get really hard. But I think the worst thing you can do is let fear keep you from making decisions. You just have to learn to accept that some decisions will be wrong and move on when something is a mistake.

I'm probably the last person who should give anyone advice. I've made a lot of bad choices. Still, it's been worse when I've failed to act than when I was proactive. I think you have to at least try to control your own destiny.

Good luck.

It took my picking a fight over text messages to get him to finally tell me the god damn truth -- he has a new gf. I'm not surprised. I knew this is how it would be but it still hurts.

Here's the man I thought I'd marry some day. I bared my heart and soul to him. I was honest about everything and in...

I know the feeling well, but you're far too young (and frankly, pretty) for that thought. Walk away from this one. Don't try to find some one new just yet. Look again when you're ready.
joscelyne:
I'm sorry it hurts so much. But ^ they're right, it'll make you stronger. You're probably going to be tired of everyone telling you things you already know and/or don't wanna hear (if you aren't tired already), but we're here for you.

I'm watching "Como Agua para Chocolate." It's probably the movie I needed to see.

Yesterday brought all kinds of emotions for me.

I had a dentist appointment in the morning. Everyone was nice and for once they didn't find a reason to drill into my mouth. The best part: It was free! It's nice having great insurance.

Afterwards I ran home and showered, ate breakfast...

Suddenly I feel antsy, like I'm fighting for my very existence.

The dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Cal State Long Beach has decided the school needs to run a feasibility study to see if my college newspaper, the one I worked on for most of my time there (talking at least 2-3 years), devoted most of my time to my last three...

So I was going to link y'all to the piece I wrote for today's paper, but apparently it doesn't get published online. It wasn't much but a) I got shit for it and b) I got thanked profusely for it.

See, this one woman whose age I can never right (She looks about two decades younger than she is), has a wedding this weekend, her...
