Once more into the breach, dear friends, once more, or fill the wall up with our English dead.
Um, or something like that. School starts up again tomorrow. I'm going full time this quarter and pulled back to half time at work. I took an insanely great class this summer called "Discrete Mathematical Modelling". It's making me question my current focus on theoretical math. Oh well, I'm so close the the end of my undergraduate degree that I might as well stick it out. I will, however, look into applied programs when it comes time for graduate school
Anyway, this quarter is:
Analysis (calculus from the bottom up)
Combinatorics (the theory of counting things)
Classics (Homer, Illiad, etc.)
Intermediate Macroeconomics
I would say that I'll be online less but that would be practically impossible. You see, this summer I finished this insane project that I started about 4 years ago. I built an office in my basement. When our daughter was on the way, I lost my office to become her room. About that time, I started building a new office in the basement. This was, of course, before I started back to school.
So, in the last 4 years I've:
Designed the space
Cleaned the basement (and I mean spotless)
Framed in the office
Run all the electical (I passed inspection!!)
Knocked a doorway in an existing wall to create a server room.
Hung drywall
Taped, mudded, and sanded.
Installed a door/lockset
Painted
Laid carpet
Done the trim
Finished the windows
Hung and painted a blackboard
Run network cabling
Moved in funiture and computers
I've spent almost the entirety of my free time this summer finishing it up. I moved the computers in tonight and I'm posting it from the new office.
Anyway, I'll update in the near future with a little more info about the classes.
