A while ago, I started a new job. I'm a software geek. Anyway, my prior employer was a really big company that has an office in the Seattle area (not that one). Anyway, I had a hard time with how they developed software, so I left to go work for a smaller company where I have a lot more influence.
So far, it's been a blast, we starting to get tons done and everybody seems hugely engaged. Plus they are, like the last company, being really flexible in a way that lets me make headway on the math degree.
Doing C++ development again really reminds me of how much of a "rounded scissors" language Java is. Don't ge me wrong, it's much easier to write in Java, most of the time, but when you run into a situation where you have a lot of repetitive code C++ shines with templates, implicit conversions, operator overloading, and a preprocessor.
