Gamma's Promised Update
Since I'm skipping class tonight (*GASP!*) I figured I would complete my evening of time-wasting and update my journal...I mean I COULD be working on my thesis, but no...that would be WAY too productive! So while I'm sitting here watching VH1 Classic, reliving my fond childhood of the first days of music videos, I decided to actually post some pics from my recent trip to Newport. Walter was hogging the camera the entire day so I didn't get any pictures of him, conveniently. Nonetheless, we had a really good time sweating our asses off. Not even a fan to be seen on any of these properties!! However, aside from the massive heat index, I could definitely see myself being a high-society woman in the nineteenth century. What a life it would be to stroll around the garden all day and plan parties. I find that much more fascinating than anything I'm currently doing
This was the lovely Elms. Although it looks absolutely beautiful on the outside, inside was an interior designer's worst nightmare. The color schemes reminded me of Mt. Vernon (George Washington's house) which made me want to puke. However, if I was the owner it would look absolutely fabulous!
Of course, I've been to The Breakers two times already but had to go back. It's a sick addiction of mine, these old houses. For anyone who has not visited this lovely property, it was the Vanderbilt's summer cottage with a mere 70 rooms. I should be this lucky! With 70 rooms I could have 10 just for junk! I would probably never see my dogs again.
This is a Japanese tea house at Marble House, another Vanderbilt property. If I could just live in the tea house I'd be thrilled. I mean you could probably fit my whole house inside the tea house! Unfortunately, it was closed for repairs so we weren't able to go inside
Of course, I have to throw in a picture of me to reinforce my claim of just how hot it was. Please...if you see me on the street looking like this, take me home immediately. I should never go out looking like this for fear of scaring young children and the elderly
And I thought that I was cozying up to Satan but alas, upon closer examination it looks like it might actually be Pan. Hmm...weird rich people.
P.S. You can add Morrissey and Shirley Manson to my list of oddball celebs I find attractive

i don't think we lost power last week. (i was actually at TK's that night) but i do know that a big tree branch missed my truck by only a few feet. and if my bike was home the stockade fence in my back yard would have been lying on in. so i lucked out. no damage.
