So I made the mistake of letting my ex-husband do my job for me. Let me explain:
My ex has come to work for yet another company that I work for. He is having some financial troubles and is in a custody battle with his ex-girlfriend for my step-daughter. In any case, I'm always looking out to help him anyway I can. So I let him cover for me on Monday when I was getting my car looked at, figuring he'd do the run and get back to Springfield and all would be well. Oh no. That would be too easy. He goes to each of the banks that I do work for and informs them all that he is my ex-husband and that I'm not involved with anyone else. Now this is a problem because my current fiancee works for our company as well and happens to do half of my work stuff during the week because I'm in school. We are all good friends but we haven't told my ex-husband about us, frankly because the guy has had just too many bad things hit him in the past year (mom died, daughter's mother is a drug addict, etc). So needless to say when I went back to work on Wednesday everyone thought they were entitled to some sort of answer about my past personal life.
So, folks, the moral of the story: Do not include ex-husbands or wives in business dealings if you do not want your former life exposed
