Hmm.
Oddly significant things are happening to me.
I don't think I can expound on all of them (....on this day), but I will hit on one.
I finally told Zhen she had to get outta my bed and, in turn, my life. The resulting argument involved screaming, kicking, crying, more screaming, name calling, sobbing, absolutely obscene language on both our parts, more sobbing, my neighbor banging on the wall, and ultimately ended with Zhen gone and me sleeping alone.
What was the catalyst for me making the decision to tell her to go? In all the time I have known her, she never offered me her jacket or protected me from a car.
What I am talking about is the automatic reaction that I think a person should have when walking with someone they care for. If a car is coming and your walking partner is near it, you put your hand on their arm or back, to make sure they are aware of the danger and guide them away from it.
She has never done that, and never will. I recently decided that I want that sort of unconscious caring in my life, and she does not fit the bill.
*As a quick review, Zhen is the ex-girlfriend who lives in Berkeley. She came down to visit for the summer, showed up at my new apartment, and revealed that she still loves me and that we should be together forever. Because I lack the ability to turn down sexual favors from snuggly soft Asian girls, I let her stay with me.
