OK, let me be macho for a moment.
I like leg days at the gym. The first reason is that blasting my quads is a *really* good excuse for taking the day off cardio. I hate cardio, but without it I balloon up to my borderline-obese natural weight, so I bear my cross with magnanimity. Hey, I could be a 14 year old in Liberia who knows how to fire an AK but doesn't know how to read. Think about that, O ye detractors from arms proliferation control bills and assault weapon bans.
But I digress.
The second reason I like leg days is that, on leg days I get to lift *serious* weight. Curls, you get what - *maybe* 100#? Bench press? I can only do a little over 200#, which is just weak. But squats...
Today, I finally broke 400#. I got 4 good reps at 420 (I wish I smoked, so I could've celebrated), which puts my estimated 1RM somewhere around 450-460. I am disproportionately proud of myself, especially considering that this accomplishment is primarily useful for... well, for doing more squats. But if you ever need your piano lifted, I'm your man.
Actually, I'm not. I said that and ended up lifting two pianos in one summer. Not fun.

Additionally, per Cheech's suggestion, I will hereinafter refer to my gf in this journal as "Lysistrata."
We're thinking of naming our first kid that. I shit you not. Ruth Lysistrata for a girl, and Righteous Endeavor for a boy.
OK, she's not quite on board with RE, but I'm working on it.

Oh, and if you name your child Righteous Endeavor, I'm coming to Georgetown to smack you around with a book of baby names.
That is all.
