here's the deal: clear liquor in the middle of the week is just a flat out risky proposition. i've made a lot of enemies that way. now thank god my girlfriend was in good humor last night. so was some other guy on this site i saw once. apparently i tried to buy coke off him the first time i met him. i don't remember that, but it's here nor there really. he forgave me and everyone shook hands and had a good laugh. drunk is not for everyone. just those of us with a modicum of style and humor.
an aside: if i've pissed you off while under the influence, i do not apologize. you knew what was going on. you could've left before shit got out of hand.
the other night i met the old bassist from a punk band i loved as a kid. i'll not name names to protect the innocent. he was so humble, funny and unassuming. that's the thing i love about nyc. people who really make it big at whatever they want to do generally turn out to be the most down-to-earth. sure there are plenty of assholes, but you can tell who they are because they end up with a blurb on entertainment tonight.
while on that subject, los angeles can kiss my butt.
rob we are going to see low on the 2nd or 3rd and high on fire (again) on the 16th. you should come.
my lo lo crew is dead - no matter how hard i try to rescussitate it. evidently the fact that i have a ladyfriend is grounds for excommunication. go figure. i hate jaded old bitches who snarl every time somebody gets laid. i mean come on people. . .
the missus and i just had a great idea to start having little cd/record-listenings at folks' houses. i think some of the blue bloods call these things "salons," but basically it'd entail 4 or 5 people on the 1's and 2's, each for 45 minutes, and each handing out a playlist so everyone can get copies of songs they like. and you'd have to be willing to copy any of your rare stuff. ok ok, it sounds lame here, but that's because i'm not describing it so well. if you're a music geek you'll appreciate it.
i gotta go get some vittles.
