tommy - thanks for writing & the reading material, it is greatly needed & traded like currency here. not so much the more intelligent stuff, but that just means its in the bank for me. i did read the story of your travels and of the dineh people, it's interesting to me as i have a special place for american indians, and it's not some p.c. "feelin' sorry" bullshit. i have some indian blood in me, not sure which as i haven't officially traced my genealogy. i do know my ancestors are welsh.. i've been afraid to find out what they did to give my branch of williams the indian in us.
thanks for the kind words on e.h.g and "cancer..." the c.b.'s show was one of the funnest times i've had in nyc. so the hippies loved the book huh? hey that's great i want as many people as possible to read it so i'm not prejudiced. it's funny though what hippies are known by these days. mass produced tie-dye and dr. seuss hats? my brother was a real hippie - head bands, bell bottoms, peace sign - the works - he's 58 now, displaced to new mexico 'cos of katrina.
so i guess you got my baseball references from the book, cool, that's one thing no one really knows about me, not even my band! only my girlfriend really know [sic] how obsessed i am. i was a yankees fan, but after 2004's series i pulled for boston. i like their whole "we don't care, we're idiots" schtick. like you mentioned too, buying skill to be the best is lame. though boston are guilty of that as well. i'm a mets fan, man. i gotta pull for the underdogs and living in brooklyn got me hooked. hooked on a number of things, but that's a different story. i'd like to see chicago w. sox vs. houston this year with either winning. i love the astros cos they're southern (i hate the rangers cos bush owned then once) but roger clemens is kinda moronic. good pitcher though, he barely pulls it through sometimes. as far as the yankees, i like randy j. on the diamondbacks but it's funny, they had a better season w/out him, although they still blow.
ny in winter. nuff said. i love the east coast but that's why i moved back to nola. we have about 2-3 weeks of cold down this way. ok man thanks again. this is onaly a minor setback. i'm strong and positive about the future. this is really saving my life, as horrible as it seems things are now. there's nowhere to go but up. be cool & safe.

p.s. enclosed are some "wasteland" related letters from the atlantic. i didn't read the article they're referring to. it's prob [sic] online.
p.p.s. as far as baseball, all the news i get here is 2-3 days old, the world series will be over by the time this gets to you. no tv here!
