This is a homework that inspires me ! Thanks @Missy @Rambo @lyxzen
My most disastrous holidays were, for me, the one I spent in Japan. A trip that I waited for so long! Well, it was nice, but I had so much trouble there.
The first was when I fainted at Osaka Station. It was just after the long trip from Geneva to Tokyo ( flight : 11hours) followed by Tokyo to Osaka (1hour) and I’ve never felt the August heat of this country. I was lucky to have my friend by my side to give me water and help me calm down so we could take the subway and then the taxi to our hotel.
It was quite an adventure to get to the room since we didn’t speak Japanese and the Japanese doesn’t really speak good English. Their accent made me hear “tukiz” instead of “two keys” when the receptionist was speaking and we were so lost!
My friend and I did things separately because she was into visiting and I was into shopping. At that time, I was so into shopping I couldn’t do something else, I was LIVING BY IT!
At night, I would faint again because of the heat and because I was taking a pill to heal a cyst on my ovaries, which made me nauseous and unable to sleep. I felt so tired!
Then we went to Kyoto, and were unable to find any of the beautiful places you can see on travel papers. But I manage to see a Geiko and I cried of happiness!!
In Tokyo, I had a real bad experience with a hairdresser. I have a French friend who lived in Japan and she explained to the hairdresser my wish : to have my hair cut, colored, and to have hair extensions. She told me it would cost 150$.
It was a 10 a.m. The Hairdresser started to cut my hair. That was ok. Then she SCOURED my hair, discolored it, put some plastic film on it and then bring a heater. I was really afraid for my hair. Then she colored it. I was so happy, imagining the beautiful ginger color I always wanted, but then I saw that she made me blond! I was disgusted, my belly was aching, but she went on and put me extensions. And then she asked for 350$. I was in shock, my friend told me 150$! My credit card wouldn’t work, I started to panic. You have to know that in Japan, if you don’t pay, you go to jail! My friend tried to pay for me, but she was unable to, her card wouldn’t work either! It was 4p.m. and I called the French friend who lives in Japan to come to help, but she was at work so we had to wait until 8p.m. for her, so she could pay for me. I was afraid, so sad for my hair, I felt betrayed and with a new head that I disliked so much, I was crying behind my sunglasses and the hairdressers were looking strangely at me. I felt so small and lost at that time…
After this, I had to cut my hair short. I had to take care of them for two years. Now, they are better, but they never fully recovered.
Japan, I'll get my revenge... I'll come back and spend the most awesome holidays ever ! *sulking*
