I've been on this site a damn long time now. Actually, the whole of my adult life, because I applied as a hopeful a month after my 18th birthday. Shot a fair few sets before I had the opportunity to shoot with Akemi in London, in the set that made me pink.
It's nice to go back through life and look through some memories that made you smile, and with my latest set in MR, tea break, I figured it was time to do a blog filled with my time on SG and the huge amount of changes I've been through, mainly with my constant hair changing. It's an affliction I suffer from, ha.
The first set I ever submitted to SG was actually shot by my boyfriend in his sisters bedroom, sneaky! It was called Dream, and is no longer viewable on SG. It was a crappy set, but it's nice to see little 18 year old me, all skinny and unsure, with a huge lack of facial expressions, haha!
There was a set called Shot In The Dark, which was shot.... in the dark... I don't have ge set any more, and can only find one crappy quality image on Google. It was terrible, anyway, shot in the dead of night in December under a railway tunnel that was part of a dog walking route... Such bad eyebrows... Awful.
Next up, the lovely @holley shot a set for me in my favourite nightclub at the time. The set was called Redeemer, and did really well on here, but wasn't quite what SG were after. I still love the set, my hair was fucking adorable in it.
In the following January, I had fun shooting a set with @fynne on a farm near to me, next to an Overturned lorry. I still hadn't had a set bought by this point, but we are literally talking August 2008- January 2009 so far. I can't get over how different I looked in this set, so tiny, and such small boobs!
I had been invited down to London in early February to shoot with @akemi, the best UK staff photographer at the time. I had a blast shooting with her that day, and that set was actually bought in Staff Review, when that was still a thing. Because Overturned had only just gone into member review, so lots of people assumed that had been bought, but surprise surprise, here was a set never seen before! It was called Thinking Of You, and I still like it, though I view it as a different person.
Still 18 at this point, I cried when I realised I had gone pink. It's still a matter of pride to me today that this weird, big toothed, untraditional girl was considered good enough to be a part of something like SG. On the same day Akemi shot Thinking Of You, I also shot another set called Obscure The View. For some reason, we agreed black and white would work well, though really it should have been colour. There was still some great shots in the set, including this one documenting that once upon a time, I did actually possess that fabled thigh gap.
Once pink, life seemed to get in the way of SG for a while, so I didn't shoot again until the following November, when Holley and I journeyed down to Brighton to shoot in the Hotel Pelirocco. It was damn fun, and we got Ophelia Fancy out of that one.
The set was well received by members when it first went up, though wasn't bought. So Holley and I shot again, this time in my front room at home, and got the set Roots out of it. I will always love this set, it was me at my most natural, with only a slick of mascara on, and for the first time, I thought I could actually see myself in it, and not just someone else I'm looking at on a screen. Roots did really well on here, but was up for a little while, when something happened in my life which made me ask to be archived on SG. Thankfully @missy sent me a lovely email asking if I was sure I wanted to go, and that they had been just about to buy my set when she reviewed my email. It was lovely to feel appreciated here, and I realised leaving here would do nothing to help my actual life situation at the time. Surprisingly to me, and still to this day, it was Ophelia Fancy that was SOTD instead of roots.
I will always keep it on the site because it deserves to be seen. So now we are up to April 2010, a lot of sets in a small amount of time! I emailed for Archival again a year later, after realising the life event hadn't improved any for me, and I hadn't made the effort to shoot, so decided to leave SG for a while to focus on me and my health. I came back to the site a couple of years later, tried to get back into the swing of things, but didn't actually end up shooting until 2014, when Holley and I arranged a mini shootfest day at my house with @lucerne and @reallifepirate also shooting. From that day, I had so much fun, and had Sharp Edges bought soon after it hit Member Review.
This was my first set with my new boobs, and bigger confidence. I'd been missing gigantits my whole life, they shouldn't have had to have been installed by a surgeon, but it's fine, I have them now and they are mine and I love them. Holley and I next had superb fun shooting upstairs at my work to bring you all the set Tired Of Waiting, which hasn't graced the front page, but is a set I am proud of nonetheless.
Holley and I always made such a great team, she is a wonderful woman with mad camera skills who became a huge part of my life thanks to SuicideGirls. Up next though, I shot a set with @paulina called Get Comfy shot in my front room. I was the biggest I've ever been when shooting this set, so I have a real love/hate relationship with it. Paulinas photography is lovely, and it's interesting to see how my body develops over the years with weight gains and losses.
After another short break from shooting, where I lost a little weight and felt more "me" again, I got the awesome opportunity to be able to go to London to shoot with @gemmaedwardsuk whilst @sean and the lovely beautiful ladies of the Blackheart Burlesque were over here for their London show last September. It was a really fun and nerveracking day, but Gemma coaxed out my best work. She surely is a genius behind the camera! You can view our set Tea Break in member review now! Even if you've already left love, please go back and comment again, we would really like to see this set front page ❤️
So that's you all up to date! Kind of.... I do have another set in the queue, that you'll see in around 3 months time, this one was shot by the lovely @ladyswift who is a total babe in front of, and behind the camera. We have shot a few times (including my current profile picture) and we love working together, so decided to shoot a set! This will be my first set on SG with none pinky/purple hair, so that's something new for you.
I hope you've enjoyed this little trip down memory lane with me, it's been nice to revisit the sets that did, and didn't, get bought! I hope my little place on SG will continue for a while yet, I have this site to thank for so many things in my life, but mainly for my confidence as a woman.
I originally wanted to become a SuicideGirl all those years ago because of how sure of themselves the SGs I saw posted on the MySpace blog were, over ten years ago now. They looked like they belonged somewhere, even if it was just this little perverted corner of the Internet, and I wanted to be a part of that, to belong somewhere.
Thank you so much SuicideGirls.com, I owe you my life ❤️
