A much belated update on the Shawn Ray Expo:
Worked all night Friday then trucked on off to school early Saturday morning. I sat through a quick yet efficient review for an upcoming test before heading off to the convention center. This was my first venture to a body building expo, so I had no clue what to expect. After arriving I parked and made my way in the door. Upon entering, I met up with the other students in my class. Lil Steve led us over the martial arts demonstration as his school was currently kicking some ass. Also, Mike Nichols (UF3) school was there as well. He was grappling some cutsie blonde with Kanji on his lower back. *Drool* I am tempted to utilize the free week pass to CO Brazilian Jujitsu just for the eye candy. Perhaps, this Cat gives private lessons It was not hard to pick out the guys who trained with Mike, since they were all tatted up (most likely due to Twisted Soul). Moving on, thanks to the Xience booth giving out free liquid crack, I made it through 35 hours of no sleep. Yippie! Also, I picked up a million samples of protein bars and shakes; they became my lunch for the day. It was pretty fun to talk to all the fitness buffs about nutrition and supplementation. I made off like a bandit with shakers, since they are 5 bucks or so when you buy them at GNC. Mid day Lil Steve got me into the auditorium during pre judging for a minute. We saw some guy large enough to eat me executing a double biceps pose. I entered a push-up contest at one of the booths. I executed 55 push-ups in 1 minute. I was so close to 56, but collapsed haof way through the last repetition. I spent $200+ on clothes. I bought a Bomb outfit from Mack Attack apparel. It was so incredibly cute on me that I had the opportunity to take a picture with the girl who started it all. Since I was then wearing pants I entered a sit-up contest that was taking place at the same booth as the push-up contest. I executed 66 sit-ups to the minute. I think I stopped breathing half way through. In the end I won a trophy for beating all the girls out for push-ups, then second place hitting 49 or so. I also made off with the sit-up trophy as well, even beating out all the guys. Im a Baller Yo! We then ran into Big Steve, who was competing that night in finals. I wont find out how he did until this Saturday in class. I am sure he made out pretty well. It was interesting to see him all orange from spray tan. It was a long day, but lots of fun. In the end I made off with a butt load of free stuff.
