Beauty is a difficult subject to discuss since it is something very relative, what can be beautiful for me may not be for others, or vice versa.
My concept of "attractive" and "beautiful" is usually out of the norm, I would say. Ever since childhood I never liked normal, I have always tended to prefer the unusual and the dark. That always caught my attention but I never realized it.
When I think of something beautiful, I think of a dark sky about to start a storm, what does this make you think of? Power? Anger? Terror? Intensity? I don't know what I think of it, but for me this atmosphere makes me feel good and there is nothing better.
A woman from a savage tribe with breasts out, breastfeeding her son in her arms, with her rough look; this is a perfectly beautiful woman for me.
However, a mystical mermaid with her fragile shoulders and doll lips, who seduces men with their hypnotic song to devour their flesh, that is also beautiful.
Everything that transmits art and poetry, with a certain meaning, is beautiful. I wish I could convey this, poetry, art, history, power, in my photos. And then I would know that I am truly beautiful.
