Thank you for the birthday greetings. My birthday came and went with very few people personally recognizing it, which is what I like. The more low-key it is, the better. Actually, it's because if everyone knows about it I'm more likely to be embarassed in public, and if I'm embarassed public I will hate those responsible for the rest of my days.

Yeah your right it is VERY expensive even when I still lived in NM--It's become quite a an attraction and Albuquerque has become quite large itself--I think over half a million poeple live there now--Crazy but it has the room

Ever since I updated AIM the last time, my Yahoo! account has been receiving myspace e-mails, so I guess it automatically signed me up for myspace. I never use it, and I've deleted all the e-mails on the off chance they were virus-laden.

The lottery is kind of fun, actually. I buy the same $2 scratch ticket every time I go to Kroger, and so far I'm up about $6. Wow. That's pretty sad, come to think of it.

Since you asked, I'm currently in the process of applying to Syracuse and American. Last Fall I was sold on applying to American, even visited the campus and loved the Literature Department, but I decided I didn't have enough money and left it for a year. Now I still don't have enough money, so I'm saying fuck it and just applying.

I'm not sure if you read my extra comment on that entry but the big problem is not finding people to hang out with, it's finding people with similiar interests. That and I have a social anxiety disorder. There are things to do around Blacksburg probably more than a lot of other towns. All those social things are odd though when you go by yourself.

I know someone who went do with a semi-truck to the South for relief efforts. I'm pretty sure he didn't have to do anything extra because he was just helping take supplies down there. The group was called 'God's Pit Crew'. I'm not sure if they're taking another trip down or not. It would be a wonderful thing to do if you could handle it financially. I would be worried about getting down there with no money and then being stranded myself. I'm sure you'll journal if you end up going. Good luck. -dave
