i saw one of my favorite people in the world today! his name is Bob, and he is an old photographer. he has taken some of the most amazing photographs...one exhibit of his i saw a few years ago was a series of photos from 1969 in Boston. there was a beautiful chunk of history captured in that exhibit. they were all black and white photos of families hanging out on their porches, stoop, whatever they had, just doing everyday things. the interesting thing was what the children were doing in the photos. one pic was of children dressed up in home-made "space gear" right after we walked on the moon. another pic was of kids all saluting Malcom X style. and one of an old lady in a rocking chair on her porch with a big fat cigar hanging out of her mouth. haha she's adorable!!

i guess i love his work because it has a remarkable narrative quality. i really feel somehow that i am looking at things through his perspective, and being let in on a secret about these peoples lives, and that time in history.

i wish he had some sort of website i could direct all of you to so you could check out his work. even better would be if you could meet him in person! he is the most friendly, warm soul! a very refreshing person to encounter.

new job
well, not much to say about it except that i am still there. but thanks to everybody for wishing me well on the new job.

good news..
the man i rent space from for my (closing) shop offered for me to re-open in this location when or if things are looking up again for me. he said i can keep the workshop there as long as i like, and later if i would like to re-open i am welcome there. this was the best thing i have heard in a long time!!! so maybe i don't have to completely let go of my shop, just temporarily close until later this year. so if i work really hard, and catch up on some bills i could eventually have my shop up and running again. it is a big maybe, but i'll take it. i'm not quite ready to let go of my little dream shop.
