Niko hurt her front leg somehow. Poor thing, I hate seeing her limp around!
Her Vet said to watch it over the weekend, and give her aspirin for the pain. She doesn't seem to think that it is arthritis or anything...we might have to go in for X-rays on Monday. The aspirin actually seems to help her...about an hour after I give her the aspirin she doesn't limp as bad, and stops holding her leg up. Last night I put the heating pad under her leg for her and she seemed to really like that! he-he... She is so spoiled...but she deserves every bit of it!!
This morning was a sight I'm sure....she had snuck up on my (very high) bed in the middle of the night, so in the morning when we got up, she couldn't get down. I thought, excellent, the dog can't jump down, and there's no way I can lift a 72 pound dog off the bed with my back injury...
"Aren't we a fine pair..."
....so I ended up moving her around and sliding her off the bed ass first, Niko resisting and running over to the other side of the bed the entire time..or hanging on somehow with her front paws for dear life so I couldn't slide her down the side. Niko has jumped on and off this same bed her entire life mind you, so what was the big deal? And good lord how does a boxer turn into a weinie dog so easily?? Ha-ha.. So after a 10-15 minute ordeal I finally got that damn dog off the bed. It must have been a hysterical sight!!
Gotta love her though...
Kisses!
Looks like we've found a home for Cricket. She is going to be the center of a single woman's life, which considering the amount of abuse she suffered is a good thing. She's going to be a princess.
Our next challenge is a wee little boy who was going to be pit bait. He was found tied with a three foot rope to the back of a trailer inside a storage unit. I would love to do the same to whomever tied him up.
