So I'm going to make an attempt at what I consider a serious blog.
Whether you know it or not there has been a case brought to the supreme courts that is very important to me and my life style. A case which was brought up in 2004 and has since been shut down in all court systems as being unconstitutional has made it to the Supreme Court.
This issue is violent video games. As some one that has literally grown up on video games and some one who's fantasies mostly consist of getting new game ideas out to an audience. I am pretty concerned about this. The simple fact is that the current bill proposed is too vague and will likely be thrown out, but there is still that long shot that something could occur. Would this long shot go through it may have a dramatic impact on the gaming industry. Some oddities about this law is that it's proposed by Californian Senator Leland Yee (Supported by Governor Arnold Swartzenager. That guy that made a career off violent movies). It being odd in my opinion is because part of California's economy IS this industry.

Now one of the games mentioned the most in this hearing was Postal 2
Most people haven't even heard of this game and to be honest I really didn't know anything about it either. Because it's a shitty game. Notice Kevin's sarcasm on Attack of the Show and his ICP reference which is pretty spot on.

also if you can stand it watch this ICP music video if you need to know who they are.
they believe in Jesus because fog and giraffes are miracles...

So there could be a silver lining.. maybe 15yr old kids won't be on xbox live as much?
Just for me personally it sucks to see an industry that was literally been built up during my lifetime be viewed with such narrow eyes from people who don't even know enough about video games to even define their arguments. It is understandable that some people don't want children to have access to mature content but the argument was raised. Should this be limited to JUST video games? What makes video games stand out? Well the interaction is the main reason. Which in theory sounds like a solid reason but there isn't any scientific evidence to back it up. Currently the only evidence is that violent children like violent everything which usually includes games.
Also in recent news a mother shook her baby to death while playing farmville and 3 friends killed a friend over cheating in madden11. Both of these games not violent.
Oh and this has some of that and thoughts about kinetic for xbox

I did watch all these videos in full length one after the other. I am being kind of lazy and I will probably research this more.
To whomever reads this in entirety, thank you.

I like to make believe that ICP is actually a duo of dapper individuals with top hats and monocles. Then the line would read "I say! Those magnificent little metal attracting devices, I don't believe I quite know how they work!"
