I bought a car yesterday. Actually, it's an old van. It isn't very sexy, but it is practical and it will get me to Burning Man next year (so I don't have to rent one)
I have never been to Bonfire, but I like the Soul Stew at Goodfoot. I've never been to Union Jack's, but one of my friends likes it a lot. In that arena, I have only been to Stars, Exotica and Acropolis.
I loved the Viscount before it became Bossanova, but I haven't been since it changed. How is it?
bbellicose:
I lived in Germany for about 5 1/2 years, but came back to the states before I started elementary school. My parents were teachers over there (I was not a military brat). I loved it though.
Stars is my favorite of all "cabaret clubs" that I have been to, but I haven't been in about 2 years.
I see you like karaoke...there's something I don't do often enough. Ever done the live band karaoke?

I've been tagged by babybellicose. She made a point that I don't post often. There are reasons for that. None are good. Here goes.

20. I am obsessed with Thomas Pynchon right now
19. Some of my most rewarding social interactions are on the window at the post office where I work
18. World of Warcraft should be assigned a schedule by the FDA....

Women can be very inspiring. (So can the night)
You should write more often. It's good for your soul.

I heard just recently that Johnny Cash looked in a mirror and said

"Let's Kill us both."

I liked that. The portrait of a man in torment.

I may be leaving soon as my time for here is shrinking fast. I've always thought that one or two post a month meant you were slacking. Or that things were moving such that your commentary/teleprompter/objective eye couldn't...

So there's a Tibetan throat singing version of Love Will Tear Us Apart by Joy Division. The name of the band is Yat-Kha. Here's a link to the file. Wonderful. I see a scene with Tom Waits drinking. A desultory game of pool on scruffy felt. A smoking shopworn female bartender. All the pain of the world held in that silence. Then. Someone wins tha...

studied the throat singing stuff a bit for one of my classes...

i seem to remember that the interesting thing about it was that the one singer could make two separate, distinct pitches simultaneously with his one voice. alas, i cannot listen to the audio, because my speakers are broken...but i know the sound you are referring to.

i also most of the day off today to sleep...so i am feeling you in that respect as well. smile

I'm going back to Salt Lake for a few days to visit the family that has been begging to see me since probably February. I call my grandmother every Sunday and she asks when I am coming. It was nice to say "This Tuesday, grandma," this time. blush

I've been off since last Sat. Worked on stuff that didn't Involve me for the first four days...

The songs in my head constantly playing should help me bring some sugary Wording, shouldn't they? Haven't done much writing lately. Got a nibble on the book. I'll know in a few weeks if they really want to represent me and maybe life really begins. I'm doing better financially than I have in ten years; so the Future's looking good. Now I just need a...

Nothing permanent on the stomach front. Imflammation related to stress. Do yourselves a favor and skip the federal system for employment. Read Bukowski's Post Office if you have any lingering doubts. Then was it all down with Yukon Jack. I'm back. I'm back I'm back. And I hope you all are well. Ze SS and I have reached Golconda and are finally settled in to...
