Working all twelves this week. Good times. Still no wheels. Double good times. The insurance company didn't call me back yesterday. August seventh the madness stops and I take over a regular 8 hours-a-day schedule. Ostensibly, my insurance agent seemed to want to cut me a check. I'm beginning to think I'll need to visit in person to Collect.
Just finishing Wakefield, Andrei Codrescus new one. He was too tentative for it to seem like much more than an exercise. The plot didn't ever grow wings for me. His strength lies in the enthusiasm of his individual sentences. Not worth a hard-cover buy, Perhaps a paperback deal if you're a fan. Next: Oblivion-David Foster Wallace.
So what's the good word?

dude...you're not the only one. I thought it was tom waits...for about a minute.
"ionlysawheronce" even with the spaces, is such a pretty title. the poem is good too, i like those abrupt endings. joy, very much like loss, is a great shock to the system.
