Tonight the art gallery opens up...FINALLY. I'm so happy this is finally going down. Apparently alot of people will be out tonight, and I'll be excited to have my work on display. Hopefuly everything will go over really well. Maybe I'll get some $$$ and will be able to fund some solo shows for later this year. I'll post more info once the gallery becomes open to the public. Thanks again kellyjanice for hooking this up!
I also managed to get my home studio setup back together...partially, at least. Now that its getting dark out early and its starting to get cold and bitter, I should be spending more time in the comfort of my home trying to come up w/some new tracks to start burning. I want to have an EP of my own music done by the end of winter. I'd also like to get in w/some other musicians on some jamtime to see what can be had...its been 2 months since I've been able to play my drums, and I miss playin them. I think I'm gonna dedicate one of my drumsets to electronics to use w/my keyboard rig and the other I'm gonna drag around to try and practice with. I'm just ready to get going again....I always feel that if I'm not being productive, then I'm wasting my life away. I've gotten to taste (through dealing with others) what being big in the music industry is like and I feel like I'm right on the edge-as in, I know the right people to get a good start. I've dealt w/musicians for years and have gotten a good eyeview of what goes down behind the scenes, both good and bad. After seeing how the industry really works, all I can say is that I'm in the same boat I was in before I was exposed to the realities of the business....I still want to make this shit happen. With that being the case, I just need to get off my ass and start doing it. It just always seems like I'm so damn busy doing other things- like work 48 hrs a week, unpacking shit, paying bills, getting rid of stuff I don't need, and of course, going out and having fun. Now that I'm mostly settled in to my new place, I really want to concentrate less on distractions and more on the 2 things that are most important to me, art and music.
