Last night I got to talking w/my roommie about getting together and doing up a comic book. I actually think we might do this....provided he sits down and writes out the 1st 3 issues like he says he would. Things always sound like possibilities when you're liquored up. I think if he actually writes out the storyline for me to put my drawings to, then it'll be a good side project for me to do. This is something I can work on while I sit at my desk at work, so I wouldn't feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of drawing it takes to do a comic. I got nothing else to do while I sit at my desk for 8 hrs a day- aside from my regular job that is. The idea is to come up w/3 issues worth of story so that we could print it up and actually have something completed to use as a basis for promoting it around to different publishers or friends, if we decide to do that. I think it'd be fun. That and my friend is definitely one of the more, um, unique people I know. I'm positive that the craziness of his brain will play out well for a good story and character. We'll just have to see....
I still need to get back to work on a project I started w/an old friend of mine. We started to design a side-scrolling video game last summer and got the fundamentals down and a tester programmed, but then lost track because we both got busy. Now I still want to do it because I think it'll be cool to actually finish it, but I realize it is definitely something that will be time consuming, mainly cause I want to redesign that character a little and then I need to draw up all the backgrounds and enemies, do em up so they can be animated, and then test it all out for fluidness and consistency within the game. Now thats stuff I know I cannot get away w/doing at my job. I suppose I'll just have to make time to do it....
As always, I'm still doing art to show in the gallery. I got abot 7 more pics ready to go for next months opening and I'm debating on what to use for next months gallery hop. I hope someone eventually buys my art. That would be nice. I really do enjoy (and need) $$$.
Now I'm off to ride into the sunset. Hopefully I won't get burned.
