yeah so I think I scared all of you peeps off. so sorry. I'm done w/the robot thing. I just couldn't help but find it funny...and I was bored. Its amazing how everyone will just stop leaving comments when they see something off-the-wall going down. It went a little bit farther than originally expected, and I haven't been around my computer enough to really leave a good journal update. A lot of things have been going on in my life. Then again, I can't really think of a time when alot of things weren't going on my life...other than a few years back when the aftermath of a few tragic events happened to me that I don't care to mention.
I've been making trips back to D-town, doing things right w/some good friends. Bought myself a new drumset, which I actually really like. I got it as a secondary kit to my 1st, but I think I like it so much now that I'm gonna have to sell my other kit. I think I've finally got a setup where I can do what I've always been meaning to do rhythmically and experimentally. I'm definitely gonna be practicing alot more than what I was....because now I'm really excited to just sit down and play. I still need to get my shit together w/some of my artwork. I've got at least 10 projects that need finished. I've been planning on making a DVD w/a compilation of some of my best material of both artwork I've done and music I've created. On the music side, I really need to pull my shit together and start making more finished recordings. The music thing has been hard lately, because there's always some BS that seems to be getting in the way. If its not my guitarist quitting, then its my bassist being a dumbass. My best keyboard is defunct and in desperate need of repair. I use my keys to help compose alot of the solo material I do. My goal is be able to pull it all together w/my keys and drums using a combination of triggers, sequences, drum pads, and my acoustic drums for the main rhythms (of course). Its a pretty large ambition, but slowly but surely, I'm building up to what I've been meaning to do. I'd like to get a whole rhythm section and background/synth sound together into one cohesive groove that I can control just by playing my drums. I'm not talking just basic triggers for different drum sounds, I'm talking creating whole sequences of electronics that can then be altered depending on how I play my drums.....Now I just wish I was independtly wealthy so I could afford to not work and actually get this shit together. Its all a matter of planning.
In other news, summertime's almost here. My favorite season of the year. Wonder what this summer will bring. It's always been good to me in the past.
