I'm getting excited because after hibernating all winter, there's finally gonna be some good shows coming around. I already got front row seats lined up for George Carlin- that'll be so badass.... We got the Pixies coming around. I'll be sure to be at Clutch in April. GBV is here on Thursday. White Stripes are scheduling their makeup show for when Jack broke his fist pounding that fuckers face in. I just saw the line-up for Ozzfest and had to make sure I scheduled days off for that...even though its not until this summer. You just cannot go wrong w/a lineup that includes Slayer, Hatebreed, Lacuna Coil and Superjoint Ritual, among others. I've missed Superjoint last two times they were around and I've been shitty about it. They played at Alrosa Villa....I mean c'mon, that had to be badass! Superjoint has held a special place in my heart ever since I 1st heard them( My roomate chopped down a tree in front of a hotel after hearing their album the 1st time) Last time I saw Slayer was at Newport. I couldn't hear for about 3 days.... good stuff. I want to play drums like Dave Lombardo. I've seen Hatebreed twice now. I wasn't a fan until this stripper friend of mine told me to meet up w/her at the show. The show was fucking great, even though I blocked a flying kick to my head. Somehow I made through without getting a single scratch on my glasses (it's all about crab defense baby). As rough as these shows were, the all time roughest show I've ever been to was Ministry in NYC at the Roseland Ballroom. I saw Ministry the week before here in Columbus and thought that was a good show. A little rough (or so I thought) and plenty loud. Nothing could prepare me for the fury I was to experience a week later in The Big Apple. All I can say is I had a welt that was black and blue and went from my elbow up past my shoulder. I couldn't even tell you what happened to cause that. I felt great after the show, too. Good enough to walk around town and get some drinks before retiring drunkenly back to my hotel. But enough of my scattered rambling.I'll save more interesting stories for another day- like the time I fell about 18 feet off the side of a bridge, flipped in mid-air, landed on my ass, and smoked a cigarette.
On a side note- my friends and I are having a big blowout on the 20th and we're intent on filling up the house to celebrate 5 of my friends birthdays at once. Kegs and Jagermeister are planned. All are welcome. Hit me up for details.
