Geez. 4 comments. Times sure have changed in SG land for Vectrexxx....speaking of which, lots has changed around these parts in the course of a year....But, regardless, I got an update to enter in. (Oh Boy!)

So NYC was cool, but ultimately not the vacation I had hoped for. I can honestly say I never want to go back to NYC in the winter unless money or paid expenses is involved. Despite the cold, we still managed to have a good time. I'm glad my girly Ap0cAlYpSe_Me0w braved the elements with me. Without her, I fear my vacation would have been completely bland and unexciting- it just seemed like a bad week for anything really exciting going down that I would want to go to. However, we had some good times exploring the city, navigating the subway, and generally doing the tourist thing. We managed to see Aeon Flux in Times Square after a long day of walking around, went to Rockefeller Center, checked out some cool shops, and did things like go to Macy's to see Santa Clause. We accidently ran into comedian Steve Harvey as he was waiting on his limo, which was pretty cool. I have to say my favorite night was the night of my gallery opening, which was the whole point of going to the city in the 1st place. The opening went over well- we made fun of this dude's stupid fucking artwork that sucked ass and I got to talk to another artist that actually had some very cool art on the wall next to where my art was hanging. I have to say that I really didn't know what to expect with the whole reception deal, and was sort of at a loss of how to act. It didn't help that I was in a foul mood most of the day leading up to the reception, either. So, promptly after arriving, I hit up the free wine on the table and tried to loosen up a bit. Thank god for booze. The reception only lasted a couple of hours, which we spent trying to avoid my mom's constant need for photo ops. When all was said in done, there had been a fair amount of people that had attended. (Hopefully all the money that has left my bank account for this fucking deal will actually pay off). After the show, we retired to the hotel and decided on going out to eat in Little Italy at this place called Da Gennaro's, which turned out to be one of the best Italian meals I've ever had. I have to say, it was a very romantic dinner....a night that was so satisfying that I decided if I was to die that evening, that it would have been with no regrets.
On our final day in New York we explored the Metropolitan Art Musuem, and accidently ran into my mom again (oh joy) and had a clusterfuck of an adventure afterwards when she tried to take us out for dinner during Saturday evening at the exact hour that everyone wanted to go eat. It was not fun.

Now that I'm back home I'm relieved to have all this shit out of the way. I don't have very many solid plans, and I'm glad. I've been overwhelmed for so long that its taken the fun out of life. I still have alot of things to get taken care of, when it all comes down to it, but no solid deadlines (which is a big relief). Also, it doesn't seem like I have 5 things going on at any different time, and its taken a big load off my mind. It will be nice once the holidays are done with as well. Hopefully I'll have a really good New Year's this year. I need to have a really good party experience this year.....it is sorely needed. For whatever reason, I've really toned down my act over the course of this year, and it just seems like something's missing. Granted, I can appreciate finally having some time to get my shit together, and hope to make the best of that this year. But I miss the good times spent with my friend's going to bars, hanging out at whoevers house getting loaded, crazy shit happening, pictures being taken, people having a good time. My old crew of best friends just isnt the same, and it all fell apart within the course of this past year. And aside from that, a whole slew of other changes have happened along the way, some good, some bad. I suppose I'll save this for my next entry...cause man I could go on and on about what an interesting year I've had. Until then, I'm going to retire to the warm confines of my bed.

Adios.
