a bit of good news on the band side is that i won't need to fret about missing out on rehearsal as me and the little lady await the birth of our baby. i've been assured the rest of the group will not be resting on it's laurels, and to expect a visit from mister four-track so i can lay down vocals/whatnot at home since i'll be needing to be close by.
i tried to read some stewart home today. is it just me or is his stuff really a mess to read. i'm still not sure what his point was, other than he really doesn't like DIJ. here, judge for yourself:

i feel that any valid point he may of had in this essay gets bulldozed by the lack of detachment in his essay. he seems really vindictive of anyone who has become disillusioned by the left. not just DIJ in particular but anybody. i've come to that conclusion by trying to read other works of his. he also relies heavily on quotes, and did no interviewing himself. but the worst of it is how he opens up his piece as if it will be a critique on another persons work, and then goes off on his own little self indulgent rant about how horrible some folks he used to be friends have become. well maybe doug p. has become horrible, but to me stewart is worse because he can't help but shout in your ear about what you should and shouldn't like. the more i think about it, the weirder it seems. doug's a fascist because he employs nazi imagery and ham fists his way through his explanations and justifications of his use of those symbols. stu is somehow excused from such judgment even though his books are littered with the same might is right violence and you're either for us or against us ideology because he dresses up his characters up with precious leftist idealism. so what is fascism then, uniforms and symbols tied to the past and its atrocities? or is it hate inspired thought and actions that are crafted to intimidate and impose a persons ideal of living over anothers personal form of liberty and happiness? ugh i'm tired, can't possibly go on to try to finish the point i was reaching for....oh well who cares! time for bed!!!
