Went riding in the park with Jeremy today, and was testing out the old mountain bike. Rode from Ingleside over to the Mission and then we left from there. Up Duboce, past Market and over the wiggle and into the panhandle, then over to the north side of the park, and started in on the trails which were pretty cool. Great run, and stopped for...

Finally had my old mountain bike dug out of storage and sent to me. It's been sitting for 8 years or so. Was expecting disaster and much work and money to get it running. Was gonna make it a single speed.
After looking it over and losing patience, I headed over to Valencia Cyclery and got some parts.
2 new tires
2 new tubes
chain...

A shot of the front tire. Nice bend on the lip. Apparently there is a hole at the end of the candy stripe on the outside of T8 as you exit. I hit that at full throttle still in a bit of a lean. As the bent portion is only on the right side of the wheel. It also bent the rear wheel as well,...

Round 4 came around like alll others. Arrived Friday evening to the track and set up and got settled in. Hanging out bbqing and having a few beers with other racers. Mosquitos were killing me, so I slept in the truck. Not paying for a hotel room is a good way to offset gas and travel costs.

Damn, been too long. Lots happened since the beginning of the year.
Got back to work then took a month off to visit family in Texas. Drove down in the truck, and went to some campout weekends. All in all, it was fun getting out on the road and seeing the countryside.
When I came back, I went to a trackday at Sears Point, to...

Race Season:
fucking aye, it's so close, I can feel it.
Plastics are painted, the bike is about back together, and I think next weeks trackday at Buttonwillow is going to be a mostly, trial and error in getting the bike running right, and figuring out my lines again. Feeling rusty, and bummed that I know some guys have already had two races this season....

Went to see the movie "Rambo" with little to no expectation. and I gotta say, that was really good. Very well made, and holy shit, the fucking gore and mayhem and sheer un-apologetic blood baths are what are getting me to go back and watch it a few more times in the theaters. John fucking Rambo. hahahahaha
1st trackday of the season is 1 week out. Loads to work on, on the track. The bike is almost set. need to finish up some last minute details this weekend.
Looking forward to some fun on the track and prepwork for the race in 2 1/2 weeks.
