Went on the Thursday Night Bicycle ride last night. Was very cool. Started off at Benders Bar, and rode out to the Industrial area of town. Some hellacious hills to climb, and my legs are still fried from riding 2 times a day and the mtn bike session wed morning. Binned it on the muni tracks, which was awesome. hahaha Then rode out towards Ingleside, along Alemany and then onto Brotherhood way, stopped by my place to grab some beer and then we were led to the spot where the last Duel in California took place. Yep, the last pistol duel. Used to happen at this spot by Lake Merced, cause it was illegal in San Francisco to have duels, so they would go to the edge of the city limits (now Daly City) and have it out. There is some stone markers showing the spot, and we chilled and drank some beers before heading on.
Never would have known about this place. Pretty cool shit.
After, we rode around Merced, along great hwy about 11pm and to the Riptide Bar.
