AFM Round 5 - Infineon Raceway, Sonoma, California.
Well, it's about fucking time. haha, that about sums it all up.
I had signed up for 3 races on Sunday, and the obligatory Clubman race on Saturday. Pitted in the depths of Hades thanks to Stan and his anti-social self. hahaha (he'll come in here and cry about it soon, i'm sure)
Anyway, Saturday morning started 2nd practice session, getting the rust out, and working my way around the track. I had Axial Video install the bike cam, and managed some cool videos. Will try and post up the links here.
After a half day of practice, our race was called up. Clubman Lightweight. I'm gridded second row on the inside, not my favorite spot, as it can put you right in the middle of the pack. The goal, finish and race on Sunday. So I was playing it conservative, against all better judgement and desires. Hahaha. I wanted to go fast and faster. Simple.
2 board, 1 board, sideways, GREEN FLAG! Full throttle, gears up and into T2 and settled into my spots and then began hunting down the guy in front of me, while at the same time, reminding myself to FININSH!!
Turned 8 laps without incident, and feeling good about it, hitting my brake marks, and throttle marks. I was concentrating so much to get going that I didn't hit record on the video camera. :| dumbass!
Crossed the checkered flag in 4th place. Not horrible, but not where I would have liked to be. Oh, well! I"m racing on Sunday. Fuck yeah!

Actually when I pit by myself or with other friends, i'm right out front, but when your ugly ass comes out, we need to hide in the back!
