I recently received a bothersome message from a fellow on my IG asking me why I don't post more pics of me wearing makeup and doing more provocative posts. Becuz "the other SG's do" claiming that seeing a girl post pics without makeup on is the equivalent to "watching a girl let herself go"
Let's just let that sink in for a second.
So here's my rebuttal.
It is not my responsibility to post things FOR you. I post for me! I sometimes feel beat by the girls who wear makeup everyday, who take photos everyday and do shoots every week.
I do not do this. I wear makeup when I feel like it. I do shoots when I feel like it and I post what I FEEL like posting. I was not informed of a "requirement" to please the public by keeping up with other girls. This is about me. I work full time as an auto technician. I look like a dude most days with coveralls on and baggy clothes and no makeup.
I've battled for a long time with self esteem issues. I've always wanted to be an SG since I was 13 I saw these girls and strived to be one! Now here I am giving this my all and I'm not necessarily taking this mans opinion to heart becuz he's one person. But to put someone down becuz he feels I'm not up in the ranks with these girls becuz of who I AM is appalling.
We're all beautiful. I know my SG family appreciates me for who I am.
My name is Cherryfae, I have uneven skin tones and scars on my face from acne I have constantly. I don't wear makeup becuz it makes it worse. I think it's better to love my skin for what it is than to please everyone else and feel worse, becuz that pound of makeup I put on to please you made me breakout. I wear it when I wanna feel special, not becuz I want feedback or reassurance of how pretty I am with it on. I'm pretty without it too!
This is the real me. And accept me or not. This is who I truly am!
I think everyone should strive to post more natural pics than edited and done up! Yes we're all beautiful and fabulous unicorns but more people need to see the real you to understand that we're not machines of beauty! That we should be recognized without makeup on! No one can look amazing 24/7 I know a lot of you do without makeup so take a step back for a moment and take the mask off.
