Hey guys, today's blog is gonna be written in leau of the loss of King of Horror, Wes Craven. Creator of the Scream movies, the hills have eyes, and my dearest favorite, Nightmare on Elm St. Also the creator of my Horror husband Freddy Krueger ❤️
This week's @bloghomework for @rambo @missy and @lyxzen
I didn't get into a lot of horror flicks until ALOT later in my life as I was raised in an extremely Christian household, horror flicks were out of the question. It wasn't until about 3 years ago that I first watched the nightmare on elm st movies, OH BOY did I fall in love. Freddy's kills were all so cheeseball and amazing I couldn't get enough of watching. The amazing one liner kills, "Welcome to Primetime B****!" Oh goodness, it was everything in my life that I was missing, crazy slasher deaths, swearing and crude visions, and an immortal sense of terror, Freddy Krueger has been a big part of my life ever since. I cosplay Freddy all the time and nerdily collect nightmare on elm st gear and swag. My boyfriend is also a big nut for the series as well, which honestly is SO hilarious.
Having recently read online that there was talk of a NEW nightmare remake in the works I was super skeptical esp cuz there was talk that Freddy will be rumoured to come back as a female. Instant intrigue has been in my brain ever since reading that, and what with Wes's passing I really hope whatever they're doing with these remakes, that will continue his legacy on into the future, that they make him proud!
To inspire and impress a 21 year old(now 24) in this day an age of horror flicks, into being hooked on his movies is truly amazing, he knew how to make us all squirm, one dream at a time.
You will live on in all of our nightmares!
Rest in Peace Wes Craven <3
