Greetings from my busride home from Manhattan!
Normally I wouldn't write a blog from my phone (again), since it acts all ridiculous when I try to correct a spelling error. So on that note, sorry for any shifty spelling!
I think today I realized just how much working in New York City every day has jaded me.
I'm always people watching, and constantly laugh to myself about how pompously people parade themselves around. Signature traits include no eye contact, walking uncomfortably tall with your neck stretched up to the max, nose in air, goodwill 90's garb and some sort of organic drink in hand, like an Americano from some stupid 'underground' cafe. (Im an avid Americano drinker, but $3 is fine by me from Starbucks, womp)
I always think to myself how embarrassed I am for them,always strutting around like they're a somebody on their way to a runway. But today I think I figured out why. To be in NYC, you gots to be a tough cookie, or they'll eat you up. So, people act like asshole just to be left alone. And now I do it. Kinda.
The no eye contact bs, acting fed up when a tourist is slowing me down.. I am a right prick, right?!
I'm a nice Canadian girl who's big city used to be Toronto.
New York is the devil. It's slaying my kindness and smiles to strangers. People are rude, disgusting, and act entitled. Blech. I won't let the smelliest city on earth ruin my sweetness.
Fuck you, city. You and all yer creeps.

Thank you for being a super awesome SG member and looking out for a fellow member, but I'm actually not sharing an account.. that night I wrote that I was drunk (go figure, haha) and just discussed the drinking that goes on in my home! However when I re-read it, I see where ya got that from! Thanks again, though! Total sweetheart

Haha, I'm working on it! So far so good in the "not a prick yet" area of things. Although the skin has gotten thicker!
