i just saw no fewer than five deer (or deer-like animals, they didn't have horns/antlers) drinking rainwater that had collected on the poolcover
it was foggy and pretty and a little creepy
didn't realize there were deer in california (and if they weren't deer then what were they?)
actually i'm mostly writing this because i'm waiting for them to finish so i can go back across the lawn to the house without startling them
it's almost 2am and i'd like to go back to bed soon
