It has been ages since I have written a proper blog about what has been going on in my life but it has been a weekend for thinking so here is one. At first I thought it had taken so long because nothing much is happening but I am beginning to suspect that things are happening without me noticing that much.
So anyway life is going pretty swell. As I wrote a few blogs ago we are both a bit skint. I suspect this is largely due to an over ambitious life style rather then any real shortage of funds on my part. I am going to have a real go at being more frugal after Christmas. Now that Kaikai has a job and appears to be able to get student funding as well hopefully next year will be a bit less worrying money wise although it might be a bit more boring. I got my student loan statement in the post the other day. Glad I don't have to worry about that for a few years.
I love our flat. It is completely worth paying a bit more for. If I didn't have somewhere to come home to that I truly loved I think uni and stress would be a lot harder to deal with. I'd also spend a lot more time back at my folks much like last year. Fortunately we have a lovely flat with truly epic views and a Christmas tree with what looks like far too many presents for two people under it.
Last Saturday we had some friends over for Thanksgiving. It went really well, everyone helped out in the kitchen and had fun. The food turned out pretty much perfectly as well. I think I can live with having one more celebration in my life every year if I have too.
On Friday we went to see Regina Spektor at the Hammersmith Apollo. She was absolutely amazing and sang everything I really wanted to hear including . We've seen some pretty amazing shows in the last few months. Amanda Palmer, Tegan and Sara and Regina Spektor. Low in quantity but high in quality I feel.
This weekend my last great friend in Brighton had her leaving do as she is off to wetter climes in Manchester. It really felt like the end of an era for me too as I now have no reason to go into that town now. My folks live on the edge of it and it was only this friends presence there that was keeping me interested in the city centre. It feels weird knowing that I have no real connections with it now. I didn't stay very long as I was getting a bit emotional about it. I don't know why as even though I have no reasons to visit Brighton any more I now have another reason to visit Manchester and that can never be a bad thing. In fact my three greatest friends now live in my three favourite northern places - Sheffield, Manchester and Glasgow. That can't really be a bad thing can it?
Haven't talked about uni much but it is going ok. I find studying both very hard and very easy at the same time. Hard in that I struggle to motivate myself to work but easy in that when I do get myself to sit down and focus really fly through the work. My course continues to be endlessly fascinating and one of major problems remains that I like to read too much and end up writing too late.
I think that's enough unconnected rambling for now.

Nice to read that all's going smoothly. I wouldn't have thought of listening to Regina Spector & don't know if I'd like all of her music but I like that song.
