computers. [sigh]
thats the start to this entry. im back from LA!
it was great. lots of meetings, lots of driving back and forth for hours upon hours.. i hate that part.
it seems everyone i meet lives or works in venice. i dont know why it works out that way - case in point - called a friend i havent seen in a year - he's working late - a BLOCK from my hotel in venice. totally nuts. 12 million people in the greater LA area and a friend of mine who was in australia for 12 months is working 100 feet from where i stay AND he's only there for a few days a week.
anyway. computers. bah.
im bitchy about computers because all i did was move this bloody machine downstairs. when i turn it on - it crashes. take everything out, restart - crash.
safe mode. crash. old install points. crash.
replace EVERYTHING. works.
oh, then it crashes.
had to reinstall my bloody OS to get it to work, and if you can picture me - having lost 4 hours on a friday night getting my pc to work - you can see how happy that i have reregister the thing with mr.gates because "a lot of hardware has changed in the machine - please call to verify the installation of windows xp" or somesuch garbage.
oh yah. im living the good life..
maybe its time to use a mac. [sigh] then what?
anyway, im up and running and im tired and all i wanted to do was make some music. on a lighter note- i got a piece of kit today from david smith. he's the man who created such classic synths as the prophet 5 and the wavestation..fans of NIN will probably hear his new device [evolver] on some upcoming album. it makes the most kickass sounds. one day when im not setting up/tweaking/plugging in/rebooting my gear i'll make a song again. of course, i'll probably have to be in LA by then, so the cycle will continue.
anyway, hope everyone/anyone who reads this is having a better day. oh yah, and work SUCKED. im just dripping with positiviy arent i?

boxterjulep:
i picture you hovered over your keyboard sweat dripping in between the keys and face practically up against the monitor, fogging it up with your breath, panting, pissed at machines in general and about set to stick your finger in a light socket.
