common sense.
tell me this. how do you walk this planet and *not* have any common sense? i'll tell you how:
society coddles us. the folks that would have been eaten by predators or drowned in quicksand after thinking 'hey even though my horse died - i can make it!' are protected by society. the smart folks build walls, lock gates and hunt the monsters that exist. the folks that lack common sense take all of this for granted, and then have children with no common sense.
how does this work? well i have done extensive research over the years and the data is right over here..
no, of course i havent done research. instead, i assume some part of it is programmed and some part is genetic - therefore i blame the parents who get to survive despite the fact that the dont have any common sense. i also blame giant-man-eating crocodiles for not being a little more cunning.
anyway, i find the lack of common sense in someone frustrating. no, more than that - antagonising. i immediately think "you are the person that should have been eaten by a giant man-eating crocodile millennia ago."
i just cant help that.
now to the solution. well, we obviously cant throw folks to the wolves and force them to fend for themselves in the wilderness - but perhaps we could create a reality tv show with a mammoth prize - it would be a cover of course - a test for common sense. the folks with common sense get kicked off leaving the ones without common sense - who then win a prize trip to mars. see - even the prize would be enough. i mean, if you had a chance to go on a show called 'exile' and the prize was a 'trip to mars' you can bet that the folks who sign up probably lack common sense.
or maybe they would want to go to mars. i know i would. lots of land, fresh air..super low housing costs.. plus - there would be far less people without common sense on the planet..
hmm.
sign me up.
next: why we should go to mars
