Bored as all frozen hell
SO as the title of this entry so eloquently says, I am bored. Not normal, I'm too lazy to leave the house and do something bored, but Leaving the House Would be a Stupid ass Idea bored. If you're in North Texas you know what I"m talking about. ICE ICE baby. Yes I just quoted a Vanilla Ice song. Seemed appropriate since he's from this area. Anyways, back to being bored. It's cold here..cold for texas anyways. 21.4f to be exact. And windy too! and Sleeting!!! So I got bored enough to go scrape the ice off my windshield and I learned an important lesson. Keep an ice scraper in your garage or atleast outside of your vehicle. If your doors freeze shut (like mine did) your ice scraper in the glove box is rather useless. I got said ice scraper out of my frozen truck and decide that there is really no point in scraping the windshield when I have no interntion of leaving the house. SO i go between the computer and the TV back and forth wondering how much longer before I should eat dinner and then how much longer I should bother staying awake before bed. YES I am that bored. My cats have the right idea. Sleep, eat, shit, sleep. Words to live by if you ask me.
I remember living in Upstate NY before texas. I've been here 16 years now. My blood has thinned considerably. We used to walk to school year round in NY. The only time school would be cancelled would be is the temp for below -25f..yeah that's right NEGATIVE 25f. So what would be then do with the day off?? Spend as much of it as we could outside...snowball fights, building igloos and sledding. Granted when it's that cold you don't stay outside for very long. I was in Boy Scouts and up there the temp was never a reason to not go camping. I still vividly remember camping in the winter with the scouts. My two brothers and I were sharing a tent in the coldest weather I have ever been in. The temp got down to -34f. That's some cold shit. I know for a fact it was that cold cuz I had to get up to pee in the middle of the night. My little backpack thermometer said -34 and that was INSIDE the tent with no wind. So in reality it was ATLEAST -34f. I seriously thought my unit just might freeze and fall off whilst peeing and it was probably a new land speed record for urination. I got back in the tent, which was covered in ice on the outside and frozen on the inside from the moisture of our breath. It was fucking cold. I guess if I even have a point to make it is this: It's not really cold here in texas..just chilly. This would be a spring day in NY.
More to follow later as I'm sure my boredom will only continue......
