My favourite charity is ActionAid and here’s why.
ActionAid is a charity that supports and sponsors women and children in 45 poverty stuck areas around the world, women and children seem to be the most affected by poverty through injustice and inequality throughout their lives.
ActionAid puts young girls in schools who other wise may not have been able to attend and Helps them to receive a proper education. I believe educating young minds is very important for the future of our beautiful world. Children are the future and by tampering with Young people’s opportunity to learn you are tampering with your own future too. Who knows, that young boy from Kenya might invent something that makes your life better one day.
This charity also supports and campaign’s with women and young girls living in the poorest countries to help them challenge the causes of poverty, inequality and injustice. ActionAid believes that supporting women and children as they claim back their rights and help to end poverty is very important and effective way of changing lives. I think that teaching skills and trade is very important. Allowing women to work and earn a living and be part of the economic system in a poor country is great and very good step for women’s rights! ActionAid stands with these courageous women speaking for change and fighting against the harmful society norms which create gender abuse and violent abuse towards women and girls and yea that includes rape and vaginal mutilation. They support women support groups that stand up for the justice of women and are on the forefront of humanitarians justice work.
I’m so proud to support this charity, women and men should have equal opportunities and skills. Young girls should have proper school education and skills so they can make better futures for themselves. Once heard a saying which I’m sure everyone knows “you can give a poor man a fish and feed him for a day, or you can teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime” , I think ActionAid does this for a lot of women.
There’s so much more I could say about ActionAid! I give them £8 a month because this is what I can afford. If I could I’d give them so much more. If you feel like this charity is worth your pennies please donate or sponsor a child.
Go check them out!
