So I just got back from Florida on Thursday, and I must say that it was one of the wierdest trips I've been on. I had planned to go to Key West for five days just to relax before school starts back up again. I know I'm a genious, planning a trip to Florida during hurricane season. I thought that I would be ok though, yeah I was wrong.
The trip started off by me realizing that I had left my camera at home. I love taking pictures so I was pissed to start off with. Then hurricane Ernesto (I'm not really sure how to sleep it) warnings start to appear. All non-residents must evacuate the Keys. I had no idea what I was going to do. I didn't want to fly back to Mass a day after I had gotten to Florida, and I couldn't stay in the Keys. I end up deciding to drive up to Fort Lauderdale and just finish my vacation there.
I got one full day of fun in the sun before the hotel had to start preparing for the hurricane. Watching all of the preparations the hotel were making got me psyched up for thunder, lighting, a real storm. Nothing ever did end up coming. All the happened was slightly heavy rain. The same in the Keys, from what I gathered from the news. All the hype about the hurricane, and nothing. Oh well, I think I at least got a good story from it. It was the first time that I had to evacuate an area due to the weather.
