Reasons why Mississippi sucks less:
1. driving with the windows down, music up, cigarette in hand
2. gambling with my mother
3. solitude
4. sunshine
5. my dog
6. my parents thinking they have wonderful children
7. not having to pay for anything
8. except for the less than $3 packs of cigarettes
9. sonic and tcby
10. heat followed by meat locker like air conditioning
11. satellite tv equipped with tivo
Reasons why Mississippi sucks:
1. bad drivers like woah
2. my parents are starting to be too honest with me. honestly dad, i don't want to know you were a player. really.
3. solitude
4. sleeping on the east side of the house +there not being shades on part of the window (by the way, every morning at aprox 6:30 there is a robin that flies into that very window and lands with a big smack which wakes me up. i tried to get a picture of it this morning, but it kept flying away as soon as i grabbed my phone. then as soon as i fell back asleep it'd do the same thing. tricky little bugger. i'm gonna get a picture of it tomorrow. he'll see.)
5. my cat's not here (boo boo kitty, i miss her)
6. sneaking around my parents(makes me feel guilty)
7. losing my facade of independence
8. getting wierd looks when i present my texas id. because i belong neither in missisppi or texas. wait, that's actaully kind of fun. scratch that. i'd rather have a ny id though. this summer.
9. no good pizza, chinese, or 24 hr bodegas right around the corner
10. the unnatural frozen sterile conditions of the house and car make me feel... icky.
11. the tvs power to consume my brain and make me lose all motivation to be productive
also, i'd like to mention that there is no sg from mississippi... i think i know why... it's lame-ish...
Ok, so as you can tell I'm kinda bored. I've been having trouble sleeping here... after i get off the internet i generally spend like 2 hours laying in bed thinking. I suppose it's not so bad.
OOO... today i looked through the boxes in the garage and found some of my favorite old books-- Where the Sidewalk Ends, The Chocolate Touch, The Phantom Tollbooth, Boy (Rhold Dahl), Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, and The LIon the Witch and the Wardrobe. As soon as I'm done with Heartbreaking Work (and my sketches of course) I'm gonna start reading them all again. I'm still missing the rest of my Shel Silverstein and Rohld Dahl books though. I couldn't look through all of the boxes because a--they're gross and dusty b-- it's hot in the garage and c-- my mom came home and wanted to go gambling (who am i to object). it was my first time. pretty exciting, i realize i'm not very good at it, and it's a bad habit to pick up for people with addictive personalities... i like it though. black jack is my game of choice. i'm not bad at it either. (not good mind you, but not bad). it's way better than slot machines. atleast with blackjack you have some sort of control.
After that i drove back home through a beautiful storm. wehn i got home, i felt like running in the rain. and so i did. well, it was really more like, walking with spurts of jog. i've realized i'm not born to run, the short leg thing doesn't really help. didn't matter though, it was fun.
OK... so i'm sorry this was such a long and possibly boring post, but once again i'm in mississippi, so doing this is all i can really do to keep entertained. only two more nights. i think i'll enjoy the first ten things and ignore the second ten.
adios
