Anyone want to volunteer to wake me up at 9 45 AM EST tommorrow? I've got a conference call to be a part of, and my sleep schedule is batty enough that I'm concerned I won't wake. Leave a comment should you so desire
Last night, I was wondering what way to waste my time would take hold. I found myself thinking back to all those great internet games I so love playing. This train of thought eventually led to me missing Aliens Vs. Predator 2, so I went out and bought it. Haven't looked back. All fans of the two movie series will get a helluva kick out of the game (and all have probably played it at some point or another). It's not the prettiest FPS out there and the story is on the better side of average. The controls are okay, and there are a few bugs that annoy the hell out of me (losing my predator disc right after I respawn and throw it before the game recognizes it exists is one of them). What the game lacks in the technical areas it makes up in pure style. There's nothing quite as satisfying as actually wielding a pulse rifle or a smart gun. It's hella-cool to activate your cloaking field, sneak up on an unsuspecting sniper and take him down with nothing but your wrist blades or your spear. The game is unadulturated fun. Which is why I've been playing it like a crack fiend. Jump online, look for me. The tag's Commander Splat, I play either a runner alien or one of two predators, and I have a penchant for either Predators v. Humans matches or the SG clan servers (they always run well for me).
Always #2 on my list of things to do when I have entirely too much money (it's a dream list, but it's MY dream!) is building my own version of the Predator armor. I've got designs milling about in my head, but compactability and heat dissipation from the power units are incessant annoyances. That and the fact that light-refracting active camoflauge just doesn't exist.
Number one has always been to build Setzer's airship from Final Fantasy 6.
Why would I do all this? Because it's cool.
