On Friday I received a little pink slip from USPS. I could tell it meant one thing. The absinthe ship was in. So after a long wait through the weekend I went today to pick up my goodies. At first they couldn't find the package. I started to worry that they had lost the item and that I would be out the money spent. Twenty minutes go by. I was getting impatient and started to ride my bike around the lobby. Thirty minutes go by and finally they found it. Relief. I have this really bad luck with ordering anything from Europe. Last September I ordered two audio processors from Spain. A week goes by and only one shows up. I contact the company that they were from and they tell me that they shipped together in the same package. They also inform me that there is nothing they can do about it from their end and that it is an issue to be solved with UPS. UPS tells me to more or less get lost. So I was out $500 right? Well I decided that I should watch eBay and see if it shows up on there. These processors are rare and very few people know they exist so I figured that whoever had it would have no clue what it was and would just want to ditch it. It showed up a few weeks later. Apparently it got lost in the UPS system and was sold to an unclaimed frieght service. I purchased it from them and still ended getting it fairly cheap. Because of the hassle I try to avoid buying anything overseas that cost a bit. Whatever though. The bottles made it fine. Now as soon as they restock the other two bottles I can order those and stumble around like a goon.
I have had this urge to join a gym lately. It's weird because it has been reoccuring for a awhile now but I just never have the time. On Saturday I decided it's time to make the time. I slipped out of work without anyone seeing me and slid on over into PSC to get a membership. Everything went smooth and I also got a really long break from work. The gym has a few locations with various extras depending on the location. I can cancel the membership in a few month when I move and they are open 24 hours during the week. Time to prepare for the beach. Back to the music making and travel guides...
