Today was pretty laid back. Had a meeting for work at 9:00AM. Got showered with compliments from my supervisor. Gonna be transferred to Labadieville soon to a newly built smaller group home with just the guys that I have been taking care of. It's a much more homey place, not as institutionalized as the place that I am at now. This place used to be an old hospital so, of course, it is an institution from head to toe.

Tonight was a little strange but was really great at the same time. I don't believe that I ever shared that I'm a recovering alki. Well, I am, and tonight was sort of a special meeting for me so I wanted my close friends to be there. My close friends happen to be my EX, whom I dated for 7yrs, and her new boyfriend/my best friend since highschool. He was offshore, so we went alone, just me and her. We have all 3 been so close for years and I'm glad we can all still be friends. I didn't think it was possible at first, at all. She walked out 2mo.s into my sobriety, and I feel shitty now for saying that she wasn't supportive. Our relationship had dissolved a long time ago. When she started her student teaching and I was still taking classes. Now, school teachers aren't my type, but that's about all the harm done. I'm doin' great, I'd say it was a good day.
