If you want to find Blog Homework to help you come up with things to write about, you can find it here, or the much older ones here.
What is the geekiest thing you are in to?
Short answer (Labyrinth and Transformers examples): Impressions.
Long answer:
Ok. Ok. Okaaaay. As the "Lord of the Nerds" I must first explain that I see a difference between being a Geek and being a Nerd. Essentially, as I see it, a Geek collects or surrounds themselves in something they are passionate about, while a Nerd is someone who actively participates and contributes in something they are passionate about.
So, if you listen to music and collect records, you are a Music Geek. But if you play music, are in a band, or build guitars, you are a Music Nerd. In my opinion.
That being said, I have many stakes in both groups. So my struggle wasn't "What do I do that's geeky?" It was "What is the Geekiest thing I am into?" In this particular instance, I'm actually going to answer with the Nerdiest thing I am in to.
I know I've had several blogs about music, video games, food, books, movies and tv shows, my cats, and I know that there will be many more. Plus a bunch of new ground (board games, comic cons, zoos, Cosplay, woodworking, yardwork, renovations, comedy, artwork, stories, and who knows what else?)

Then it hit me! Something I do that I don't ever see mentioned or discussed here on SG, but is absolutely Geeky and Nerdy and falls into a pile of other genres. I do impressions. Not just accents or huge caricatures of celebrities, but I try to do exact timbre, tone, and rhythm with impersonations.
I used to do close to 80 unique impressions when I was in my early 20's. Then, a bout with Strep throat and an ex-wife who discouraged my practicing of impressions every chance she got, most of my impressions disappeared. She kinda flattened my passion for it.
(another younger me, in "Playing Marbles with God.")
In the 6 years since my divorce, I have slowly started doing impressions again. I can only do maybe 20 really well, and have around 10 I'm working on (Liam Neeson, Jason Statham, Morgan Freeman, Al Pacino, etc.). The three I have included here are 3 of my favourite ones I have done, and I have posted them on SG before. I hope you know who I am impersonating and that you think they sound close.
I am also a Geek about impressions and watch them on occasion. So, I thought I'd wrap this up and include one of my favourite impression videos of all time. It's called "Nano-Impressions with Ross Marquand." Yes, the guy from "The Walking Dead." Check it out. It's amazing.
Thank you my friends and future friends!
