My life has been pretty insane these last few days, since during the day I'm at my day job and at night I'm going to the LA film festival, which means spending 3 hours in traffic a day and never getting back home before midnight.
To avoid being burned out before the end of the week, I took Tuesday off, which will be my only quiet night at home. The festival has been a lot of fun so far and I make sure to hang out at the lounge as often as possible so that I can abuse these free vodkas.
The rock n' Roll highlight of the week was the screening of New York Doll, which attracted several figures from the LA rock scene from the last 30 years -- some of the usual suspects you can see in The Mayor of Sunset Strip as well as members of up and coming bands (some of them really smell bad). The documentary about the bassist of the New York Dolls was too mormon-oriented for my taste and lacked interviews of figures from the Punk/Glam scene but the event was a lot of fun.
Watching Murnau's masterpiece The Last Laugh with a live DJ set at the Henri Ford theatre was also a great moment. The best film so far has been Miranda July's poetic and funny You, Myself and Everyone We Know but Gus Van Sant's Last Days and Jim Jarmush's Broken Flowers are coming up at the end of the week.
Music-wise, I got some tickets for Nine Inch Nails show at the Hollywood Bowl and Garbage at the OC fair. I'm also gonna get some tickets for Aterciopelados.

I have tickets for Garbage too I'm just praying I'll be in town for the show. I completely forgot about the sale for NIN so I may have missed my opportunity (unless I want to pay too much for good seats). However, I did see them at the Joint in April so I can't complain much (although missing QOTSA would be upsetting).
Sounds like you're busier than I am. You'll have to let me know how Last Days is...
