It's Monday night and am enjoying my last few moments of peace before the Cannes film festival zoo kicks off. While the writers will be enjoying all these great screenings of the new works from Cronenberg, Wenders, Van Sant and Von Trier, I'll be slaving here, publishing our coverage. Fortunately the LA film fest is coming up next month and I'll be the one having fun in June.
Went to Melrose on Saturday and got pretty drunk later on at night, at a party. After that I went to one of my friend's place and was so drunk that I managed to make his narguilet fall and set his carpet on fire. This is gonna be another costly disaster since I'm gonna help him pay for the cost of a new carpet. It's kinda funny though.
I got a ticket for a Raveonettes show in Silver Lake next month and am planning to go to the Brewery art walk, downtown LA, this weekend.

As for NIN, the new material sounded incredible live. The show really blew me away. I saw them 5 years ago in an arena and I was not impressed, so my expectations were pretty low. The smaller venue may have helped this time around. I also really enjoyed the Dresden Dolls opening the show. If you hear anything about more SoCal dates be sure to share!
