BETTIE PAGE, DRUNKEN TENNIS, FRENCH SNOBS
On Thursday night, I went to the French consul residence in Beverly Hills for the announcement of the LA French film festival. Most peope were dressed for a cocktail party and way older than me, which made me look like I didn't belong there. I found kinda amusing that the Americans who were there came to talk to me while the French, for the most part, wouldn't talk to me. It made me realize how the French judge you on your look, even though they don't know who you are.
On Friday night, we were supposed to go out but that bar in HB sucked so I ended up improvising another coktail party at my place. As usual I got everybody drunk with my martinis and then I decided to show them a couple of DVDs I'm currently reviewing, Family Business--that reality show about a family running a porn video company--and Bettie Page bondage shorts. I find these pretty amusing, not taking them seriously but one the girls who was here didn't think the Bettie Page stuff was funny.
We've also decided to shoot some erotic shorts and we seem to have a team in place, from legal to distribution and I will direct. I think we'll go for an original approach--even though everything seems to have be covered in that business.
We were also talking about the girls I've been dating lately and my friends came to the conclusion that I'm always dating girls who aren't a good match for me. How can I meet cool girls in LA..there are so many of them here but I'm wondering if it's hard because I'm not from here. I'd rather go to shows than to clubs and I'm not that much into bars anymore. Any suggestion?
On Saturday morning, after a few hours of sleep, I got up to play tennis and knowing I was still hung over, that was kinda disaster and now my body hurts badly.
It's time to go the Newport Beach library to return those DVDs and CDs--I really liked Perry Farrel so elctronic album.
Fin du Journal
